Computer Troubleshooters around the world are running across more and more instances of the very nasty, recently updated version of ‘ransomware’ known as Cryptolocker.

Once you’re infected, your files are locked down and cannot be retrieved without paying the $300 within the time limit, otherwise they are gone.
Unless you’re running real-time scanners such as the Pro version of Malwarebytes (the free version is only an on-demand scanner, so can scan and clean but will not prevent an infection) you are at risk of losing your files.
It’s been established that actually paying the $300 within the time limit will get you your files back, but why take the risk? Make sure you’re fully protected, and make sure you are using an off-site, encrypted backup system to safeguard your files!
